Cox Science Center and Aquarium Expansion
The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is set to undergo a significant transformation with a $130 million capital campaign aimed at elevating science education for future generations. As the Director of Exhibits and Design, I play a crucial role in this ambitious expansion, providing strategic direction for the development of interactive exhibits and programs that will be housed in the new Science Pavilion, featuring engaging spaces like STEAM Studio, Digital Exhibit Gallery, Future Florida, and a traveling exhibit gallery, along with a fresh and salt water aquarium.

Exploration Hall
I have played a key role in developing Exploration Hall, an exhibition that showcases major achievements in research and discovery related to South Florida. I crafted the concept, collaborated with community organizations to secure artifacts, and worked closely with the architect on design considerations. I also created the rendering of Exploration Hall, which captures the exciting, welcoming space that will set the tone for visitors' experiences at the Science Center.

Future Florida
I spearheaded the development of the Future Florida exhibit concept, a collaboration with local corporations and the business community that highlights STEM areas driving the regional economy. This exhibit emphasizes in-demand STEM careers, inspiring students to explore these crucial fields. Future Florida incorporates large-scale artifacts, hands-on interactive devices, and multimedia programs to create an engaging and immersive experience.

Kenneth C. Griffin Aquarium
I played a key role in developing the concept for the new aquarium, crafting the thematic framework that outlines the overall experience. This comprehensive document details the educational and experiential goals, design direction, specific galleries—including suggested species lists and interactive components—community partners, facility considerations, and the exhibit development process. The aquarium will feature over 130,000 gallons of salt and fresh water tanks, showcasing Florida’s aquatic life and emphasizing conservation efforts for the Everglades and coral reefs.

Digital Exhibit Gallery
I have contributed to the development of the concept for the Digital Exhibit Gallery at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, collaborating closely with a design firm to create the exhibit and its various programs. Additionally, I have worked alongside the architect to ensure that all gallery requirements are met, facilitating the integration of immersive technologies like large projections and interactive touchscreens. The Digital Exhibit Gallery will showcase signature programs on themes such as aerospace and oceanography, host traveling digital exhibits, and serve as a venue for student works from the Digital Arts Studio, making it a highly sought-after space for events accommodating up to 300 guests.

Lew and Kathleen Crampton STEAM Studio
I developed the concept for STEAM Studio, focusing on the design of the space and its interactive elements. Collaborating with exhibit supporters, I integrated specific interactives into the overall design to ensure a cohesive experience. This dynamic 6,000 square foot hall combines hands-on exhibits and educational facilities, offering an engaging learning experience for families with children up to age 10. Organized into themed areas showcasing core principles of science, the studio will feature interactive exhibits that invite visitors to explore science in fun and innovative ways.
